You now want to fold in two inches for your hem at the sides and bottom side of the material. You can now use your hand sewing skills to sew the hem. You willwant to leave one quarter of an inch toward the sides so that you can put in wooden dowl rods or whatever. On the sides and bottoms you want to make a three eights inch hem. You would do this onwith the material that you are using to line your shades. Use cotton to hold the dowls into place. cut this into strips.
